Have you ever been out of routine and learned something from it? That happened to me in March. You see, I have a routine with Paper Pumpkin Kits. It is to make one of each suggested design, make alternate cards and then make the 6 x 8 scrapbook layout. I choose that order to use up the items in the kit. My goal is to use what I have before the next one arrives. This didn’t happen in March.
Don’t get me wrong, the “Here’s To You” Kit was good. It came with 4 bonus stencils which I used right away (see project here), but it was very difficult to do alternate cards and a layout. I put it off because I haven’t done many scenery cards, but mostly because I just didn’t have the time.
So what was the lesson? Here it is. I quickly needed a masculine card so HOORAY! for this March kit! Because I hadn’t used it right away I was able to better customize a card for the person who received it. I was also able to make the layout for the photos rather than take photos for the layout. Layouts are easier when you have the photos first. Maybe it is best to use the kit as you need it, but then again, maybe not. Realistically, each month has different needs and Paper Pumpkin comes in handy for last minute gifts and cards. See my layout with and without measurements below.
Remember, you need to order your Paper Pumpkin before the 10th of each month to get the next kit. If you’re interested in the June 2021 kit, you must order it before May 1, 2021
